Morning Sunshine on Mountain Creek

I was visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, searching for a beautiful mountain vista to paint, when I came across this intimate little spot where the early morning sun was enveloping these pine trees and making the creek water sparkle. This was a small stream that overflowed it's banks and was cozing up right around the roots of the trees.

As we have had frequent rain storms, the various shades of green were vivid. The clouds indicating yet more rain to come, which it did.It rained three times while I was there, however I was nice and dry under the picnic shelter.

The lakes were full with spring water runoff and many trees on the shoreline were wading in water; another perfect subject for a painting.
